Take a walk on the wilder side with this tour rich in Cherokee Indian Folklore, History, and Legend!

Patterson-Gimlin film, October 20th, 1967 Near Bluff Creek, Northern California | Travel back in time as your guide sets the mood with the beat of Native American drums and spiritually enriching flute music. You'll enjoy the warmth of the afternoon Sun, or the shade of the trees, hidden in the shadow of our Cherokee forests. Here, you and your group will learn about more than a decade of extensive research into the Southern Appalachian Bigfoot. Conducted by researchers with The Alternate Realities Center, you'll discover what has become known about this illusive and mysterious creature through years of indepth and exhaustive studies. Perhaps, you will have your own experience to share as we tour locations found throughout our region where the creature has actually been encountered. At the very least, you will discover that there are more than Ghosts that "haunt" our mountains and coves. Who knows? You may even see the fabled, but never proven to exist "black panther" which has also been sighted along our mountain trails!!! |
| Conducted at Bays Mountain Park in Kingsport, Tennessee, this tour partner offers so much to our traveling guests. Included is a nature museum, a zoo, animal demonstrations with native animals, a barge ride out on a lake located at the top of the mountain, a working astronomical observatory, and a fantastic planetarium. These activities are included in your full day package where you and your family will enjoy all that the park has to offer, while you hike the same trails where indians once roamed this vast and untamed frontier. Tour participants will learn more about the folklore and legend of the Cherokee and other Native American Tribes from this region of the country with real history dating back more than five hundered years, exploring the mysteries of our mountain heritage... | |
These tours, as well as all of our regionwide tours are great for scouting groups, school groups, and church groups!

The ARC - Alternate Realities Center is a member supported, not-for-profit organization founded in February of 1994 to study all manner of phenomena that are classified as "the fringe" by most branches of Science. Appalachian GhostWalks was created as a public awareness program of The ARC to reveal the wondrous and often haunting discoveries made at hundreds of Federal, State, and Local Historic Sites throughout our region. Thus, there is nothing false, fictitious, or made-up on any of our tours and vacations package productions - you'll always get REAL Tennessee and Virginia History and TRUE Smoky Mountain Ghost Stories! Through the indepth investigations - conducted before the first walk was ever presented at each location - and by way of the resulting tours which followed, the goal has always been to lend evidence in support of a belief to which so many of us cling. A faith suggestive that when our body stops working there is more which lies ahead for us all. We invite you to come and discover the amazing results of our investigations, in combination with the region's documented history - which actually verified our findings. Facts which will truly give you a spine-tingling feeling for who is haunting these locations and why they are here! Altogether, a positive reflection on the afterlife, appropriate for all ages, and proudly supporting Saint Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
